We Agree with Prep & Pastry…“Brunch without alcohol is just a sad late breakfast!”

Everyone needs a reliable spot for breakfast/brunch and Prep & Pastry delivers. I laughed when I walked into the restaurant and saw their blackboard with the quote “Brunch without alcohol is just a sad late breakfast!” I couldn’t agree more.

Prep & Pastry has two locations in Tucson (East and Central). The menu offers traditional breakfast and brunch items with a little flare and personality – such as the s’more pancakes. They source all their ingredients locally and you can tell in how the food tastes.

Steak and Eggs Sandwich

Earl Grey and Blueberry Scone

Maple Bacon Dossant

Monte Cristo Sandwich: This sandwich is made from brioche french toast, honey roasted ham, swiss cheese, pineapple, and mascarpone. It also comes with a homemade strawberry marmalade for dipping. The sandwich is amazing! You get a little sweetness from the french toast that goes perfectly with the saltiness of the ham – plus the melted swiss cheese.

Steak and Eggs Sandwich: This sandwich comes on a jalapeno, cheddar bialy with tri-tip steak, arugula, egg, and tomato jam. The sandwich is very rich but full of flavor. The pepperiness of the arugula and tartness of the tomato jam help to balance out the heaviness from the steak. My favorite part  was the jalapeno, cheddar bialy (kind of like a bagel) that it comes on – I could just have this by itself.

Pastries: Make sure you to get a pastry or two. I tried two of their signatures pastries (Earl Grey and Blueberry Scone and Maple Bacon Dossant) which were amazing. The combination of flavors is perfect. Come on, bacon and maple + doughnut = heaven!
