Stan and I loved our dining experience at Wildflower American Cuisine. We loved it even more since we went on a Tuesday when all bottles of wine are 50% off! When we first got there, it felt like we were transported to Europe. As you walk into there restaurant, there are a string of lights that perfectly light the walkway. The outdoor patio is perfect for dining outside.
The menu is New American Cuisine with the dishes focusing mainly on seasonal ingredients.
DISHES WE LOVED:
Crispy Calamari: The calamari has an Asian influence as it is lightly dressed with a yuzu emulsion and topped with mizuna greens (Japanese mustard greens) and toasted sesame seeds. This is a dish you need to make sure you eat while it’s still perfectly crispy and hot. There’s an excellent balance between the fried calamari, citrus notes from the yuzu emulsion, and mild peppery flavor from the mizuna greens. I love the Asian twist that Wildflower’s given to this dish.
Grilled Artichokes: What’s not to love about grilled artichokes? They are cooked and grilled to perfection. It comes with a mustard aioli that provides a nice tart note to the dish. Maybe next time, I’ll ask for some melted butter as well to dip the artichokes in. Who doesn’t love butter?
Black Mussels: The mussels are prepared in a spicy chorizo broth with roasted garlic and tomato confit. One of my favorite things is taking the grilled bread and soaking it in the sauce which is absolutely delicious. The mussels are wonderful as they’ve picked up the spice and rich flavor of the chorizo. Don’t be afraid to ask for extra bread, I know I did!
Short Rib Ravioli: Stan loves short rib so this dish was a must. The ravioli comes tossed in a truffle cream sauce with swiss chard, roasted mushrooms, chili flakes, and hazelnuts. The truffle cream and short rib give this pasta a sense of elegance. This is definitely a dish you want to order on a cooler evening as it’s very rich. While Stan loved every bite, I prefer pastas that are a bit lighter in flavor.
Wildflower is an amazing dining experience. I can’t wait to go back and try the other dishes on the menu and we’ll definitely be going back on a Tuesday to take advantage of the restaurant’s amazing 50% all bottles of wine special.
